Music is good
Water Damage - In E
I love this band, and ive made it clear so much that Water Damage asked me to write the blurb for this LP. 4 side long drone rock bangers that would make Tony Conrad and Faust proud. Theres no bands out there right that put me into am altered state of bliss. I hope Dummy can play with them in the future.

Lockslip - S/T EP
Brutal metalcore that i think it is one of the best examples of the genre in YEARS. Sounding like Curl Up and Die, Coalesce and Ire swirled into a raw punchy and fun EP. Sara's vocals are on some other level of rage and passion, you instantly believe her anger. Dont sleep on this up and coming band. Banging yr fucking head and smile.

Darrell DeVore - Another Song of Civilization
Goaty isnt a prolific label but when they drop its always fire. This is the 2nd Darrell DeVore archive release. Beautiful, far out new age, jazz and field recordings. It feels like such a crazy journey of sounds and moods. Similar too Iasos and Pauline Anna Strome.

Heavenly Bodies - Obscure Sad Terrible
Like Water Damage, Heavenly Bodies makes droned out rock but feels more from outer space than the dirt in Texas. Waves of feedback and guitars that remind me Wendy and Carl or a less pysch Bardo Pond. All their tapes rule. Get it

Minus - Jesus Christ Bobby
Underrated/bonkers metalcore that somehow came out on Victory Records. This Icelandic band sounded kinda like the middle ground between Deadguy and Deftones. The melodic element's are so bizarre and the caustic riffs/tones just pound yr brain into the ground. I genuinely think it sucks this band didnt pop off but the genre in 2002 was oversaturated. I think anyone looking for really raw, nasty mathcore / noisecore will reallllllllly dig

Florian T M Zeisig - Planet Inc
Swirling dub techno from Florian T M Zeisig. Best known for their "Music For Parents" an equally great droney ambient record that introduced me to Florian. This record feels alpt more modern comparatively, alil cooler soundind, not as warm. Alot of dub techno can sound pretty samey but this record is fairly dynamic between more ambeint stuff and stuff with more of a beat/groove to latch into. Been listening to this a ton in the car. I think its one of the best of the year so far.

Mark Glynne & Bart Zwier - Home Comfort
I loved these kinda crate digging home recording experimental rock reissues, so often they are subtlety mind blowing. "Home Comfort" sounds like Syd Barret jamming with Faust.

Nest - Retold
This is oddly one of the first ambient/modern composer records i ever heard. I found it on a blog where I also found Grouper, Jefre Cantu Ledsema, Black To Comm, just the whole Type Records roster. This record was the soundtrack of many bedtime tour music in the earphones. It combines haunting piano, japanese ambient synths and immerse field recordings. This didnt leave my ipod for literal YEARS. Its sooooooooooooooo good.

Twin Coast - noie! noie! noie!
Twin Coast are one the best noise pop, gazey noise rock band. Chicago produces so so so many good young songwriter, sound designers, noise makers and this is no secret. This ep furthers them into the realm of pure caustic noise with sweet melodies. Think alil more lucid Astrobrite or a more coherent Swirlies. Love this band. Dont sleep all you indie pop nerds
